"You Mark My Words, Boy! Nothing Will EVER Become Of Them!"

I know this is old news but Paul McCartney's Youtube channel just released a little video leading up to the Gershwin Award event at the White House (I wish they'd do more of these videos, maybe Paul doing his album of the week? or telling us what he's doing?) and watching the video it reminded me of a story my dad told me of when he was in Grammar School in 1963, he used to wear his hair in a moptop style because The Beatles were massively popular in Britain and the Rolling Stones were just coming up too. He was walking down the corridor when his PE Teacher came round the corner, his name was Thomas "Gym" Jones and when he saw my father he grabbed him and got him in a headlock (because that's what they were like at schools in them days) and said to him

"Now, you think you're pretty clever with your long hair don't you boy? But you're not! NOTHING will become of those thick and ignorant yobbos you think can play music, they can't even play their instruments but you will see, you mark my words, NOTHING will EVER become of them! Now go home and get your hair cut!"

And of course, we see Thomas 'Gym' Jones receiving the Gershwin award from the President don't we? We see Thomas on the international stage selling out stadiums around the world don't we?

Do we FUCK!

THIS is who we see!
